Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of Shorts Factory ("the app"), an independent project developed and operated by Derrick Caluag ("I", "me"), an individual developer. Shorts Factory is not operated by a company. By authorizing the app to access a TikTok account, or by otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the app does
Shorts Factory is a desktop tool that produces short, AI-generated educational videos and publishes them, when the creator clicks Post to TikTok in the Shorts Factory Publisher, to a TikTok account that its owner has connected through TikTok Login Kit. Publishing uses TikTok's Content Posting API. The app is described in more detail on the home page.
2. Connecting a TikTok account
- You may connect only a TikTok account that you own or are authorized to manage.
- By connecting an account, you authorize Shorts Factory to publish videos to that account on your behalf, using only the permission shown on TikTok's authorization screen.
- You can revoke this authorization at any time in TikTok's settings. After you revoke it, the app can no longer post to your account.
- How the app handles data from your account is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. TikTok's terms still apply
Content published through Shorts Factory is posted on TikTok and is subject to TikTok's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Shorts Factory is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. TikTok may review, restrict or remove content under its own policies.
4. Content
- The owner of the connected TikTok account is responsible for the content published to that account.
- Videos produced by Shorts Factory are original, AI-generated works. The app must not be used to publish content that infringes others' rights, is misleading or harmful, or breaks TikTok's Community Guidelines.
- AI-generated content should be labeled as required by TikTok's policies.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use Shorts Factory to:
- post to an account you are not authorized to use;
- send spam or artificially inflate engagement;
- get around TikTok's rate limits, security measures or policies;
- break any applicable law.
6. Availability and changes
Shorts Factory is an independent project provided "as is". It may change, be interrupted or be discontinued at any time. TikTok may also change or limit its API, which can affect what the app can do. If these Terms change, I will update this page and its effective date.
7. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, Shorts Factory is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I do not guarantee that uploads will succeed or that published content will perform in any particular way.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, followers, revenue or account standing, arising from the use of Shorts Factory. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Termination
You can stop using Shorts Factory at any time by revoking its access in TikTok's settings. I may stop providing the app, or stop publishing to any account, at any time.
